The tunnel in the advert is not the actual lympstone one, the one you go through down at CTCRM, is about as big as a person i think. I cant remember where i saw it, may of been on the navy site.

Why are they bloody walking?

No! :D Thats NOT the PRMC or RT mate, hence smiles all round  It's just a fun day out for the family and the worst you get is muddy/ wet. That was the endurance course, completed on the POC and at the end of RT. You definately won't be smiling or walking like these guys were either.

The one in the advert was just an "exaggeration"

I did this one this year, too many people out for a fun day out. The water tunnel was just a bit shorter than on tv! You dont have to move in it,just be pushed through.Recommend to endurance course to anyone.

Failed mate. Without hijacking this thread - failed on the 3 miler. Whats worse is that it was alot easier than I expected. Wasnt feeling too good at the time and I guess it all got to me. Doesnt matter now anyway, 6 months and I am going to crack it - I am certain of that! No looking back, been doing alot of that over the last few weeks since PRMC and in a few months I am going to go down feeling very confident!!

Thanks for the interest thought mate, sorry never got around to posting my results.

Cheers

yes i think it was a family day out, when i saw the people come out of the pools WALKING i realised that they could not be commandos because a) they were walking not running and b) they were smiling and noeone would be smiling on the endurance course

What was easier james, the 3 miler or the PRMC as a whole?

A few questions james if you've got time to answer:

What training were you doing before the PRMC compared to you're training now?
What was you're time (3 miler) before you went?
Did you stay the course, if so, how did you fare on the rest?
Also, i noticed you posted "The beast" circuit a while since, did this help you on PRMC? I do it twice a week and was just wondering if it's similar to bottom field?

Hope you can get back to me. Cheers.

Also females there and unless its changed over the past few weeks then females arent allowed to join the Marines as Commando's so they wouldnt be doing PRMC or anything, not a bad video, they were game to have a laugh and get muddy/wet at least so fair play to them. Does anybody know what the Commando challenge consists of? I thought they did the endurance course or something, went on rigid raiders and played some paintballing games for assults to give them an insight to what Royal Marine life is like as a sort of promotional type thing to get people to join, I may be wrong but never really looked into it I just know that there was something that the Marines do like that? Or I think I know haha! Ben

Lodgi,

Answers:

1. Training before PRMC - two 3 milers a week plus one 5 miler. Circuit "The Beast" twice a week. Pressups, situps and pullups, pretty much every day.
Training Now - Not much - Have no motivation at the moment and am just going to the gym with a mate about 3 times per week but the gym, I find, is not as good as doing a 3/5 mile run or longer or doing a circuit session. At the end of the day Train FOR the PRMC! i.e. get your 3 mile times down, do some swimming, do some hardcore circuits (he says just after failing a PRMC! ).

2. 3 miler time before I went was around 22.00.

3. No I didnt stay the course - anyone who pulled out before (and there was one) or during the 3 miler was sent home.

4. I am sure the circuit will help during PRMC but probably better asking someone else who has done the whole thing. I like the circuit as I find it does the whole body and if you can do it in time then its great for the CV as well.

Hope that helps.
Good luck!!
Cheers

Is the 3-miler still the first thing you do?
