BMI is only any good for your average civvy in your average street. Anyone who does sport or physical training regularly will buck that particular trend, I'm a slim bloke at 5'8" and 75kg, but the BMI chart puts even me half way through the top segment of healthy weight. At least half the lads I work with are overweight by the BMI scale.

I'm the same height but more of a rugger bugger build. Had a private medical recently (been meaning to have one for a while as I am over 40 now) and quite surprised that the Dr said i was slightly overweight - bearing in mind muscle mass was part of the calculation, I thought he was going to call me a chip buttie stuffer and tell me my BMI was way too much

I think you yourself will truley know if you are underweight/over weight.
If you have met all the physical standards and feel comfortable then you will be fine.
But take myself for example, i am naturally built but also have some fat on me, and this is directly effecting my press-up and sit-up scores. So now im on a healthy eating regime aswell as going on some ''fat burner'' runs.

Having excess body fat will not hold you back at all. If you can make the times you need to join your regiment then that's all that matters.
The BMI test is just to make sure your not under/overweight where it will effect your health. It's not even worth giving it a second thought as once you start training itwill soon be burned off.
