Don't tell me I'm the only one!. Lets hope I pass then, otherwise it will be a 100% failure PRMC.

Well it's academic now as I have a knee injury, looks like I may need to get on a later PRMC.

If it's runners knee, your best bet is some new (properly fitted) shoes.

er, It might not be!!

We did a recent thread on this. You need to see the Doc or Physio get it looked at properly or you could cause long term damage.

Sorry that was a little ignorant. Doctors are usually limited in their knowledge about sports injuries, physios are alot more efficient.

That's it my lad  You can talk about your own "experience" but we should always refer posters to experts who know a lot more than we do.

Don't forget we'd had someone on here saying running on concrete is good for strengthening legs :o <DOH>

Cheers for the advice mfat_man and JCAP3. I have had no injuries training all year then the chain of events are such:

26/08/06 - Felt a slight click inside right knee during football

28/08/06 - Started 6 mile run no probs. 5 miles in and I started to get a twinge inside right knee. The last 150 meters back to my house I could barely lift/bend my right knee and could not walk upstairs, I had run the full distance though in 41mins :-).

29/08/06 - Caught cold, throat felt like I was swallowing razor blades. Ill for rest of week, no training except gentle kick arounds in the park

Today - Started last 3 weeks of training before PRMC. Started 6 miler after a warmup. 1 mile in and the inside of the right knee started to twinge, 2-3 miles in and the knee could not be run on any more, had to wrap and walk three miles home!

I managed to book a private appointment at a private GP 15 miles away, at a cost of £60! because the local doctors would not take on any more patients and waiting list was 7 + days anyway.

Went to see doctor, told him about prmc in 3 weeks and he diagnosed inflammation/slight damage to internal structure of the knee. He gave me anti inflammatories and signed me off for 10 days, no running, no football and no labouring/stairs. He reckond that if it cleared up after resting for a while I may still be able to make the PRMC. If it still does not clear up then may need some fibre optic thingy in my knee to look at any damage.

I can't believe the last 2 weeks of bad luck. I have run over 400 km this year with no probs, then 3 weeks before PRMC I get this.

I know what you mean wedge, I've been ready for a while now and now my backs playing up just as I'm planning to do four hard phys sessions in two days, it has been a little twingy for a few weeks though. Bugger!
