RMR and Driving Licence

Post by Bitty »

Can the RMR provide you with a driving Liecence because I'm prob. going to RMR London or Poole. I'm not joining up just for a driving Liecence if i wanted to do that I would of joined the TA signals, I'm just thinking I can kill two birds with one stone.

It's possible but it's probably the hardest, slowest way to get a driving licence that there is.
Before you can do anything else you're going to have to finish commando training (a year if you don't get back trooped, could be longer). Then you'll have to wait for a drivers course to come along, a few months at least.

To be honest I think the driving licence is not worth worrying about. Getting a driving licence requires about two months of a few sessions a week in the car of any friendly 21+ year old.
Getting a green beret requires at least a year of 4/5 sessions of intense phys plus lectures each week plus a dozen cold, wet, arduous weekend exercises.
There's just no comparison.
