Passed POC

Post by JCAP3 »

Passed by the skin of my teeth - Well done to TDB too. What they say about staying with it and refusing to give up saved me.

I believe TDB is writting up his POC diary at the moment.

JCAP, do you know if you can get you're A levels once you're in as a marine? I fancy joining as a marine then maybe getting a commision if I was able to get my A levels first.

good luck on your A levels mate put in as much effort as you can cause you dont want to have gone through that hard POC then AIB then get told youve not got the results for an officer

Yeah you are right mate

Make sure you get the required results for your GCSEs and you'll be fine.

I was told to get my arse to university as so FEW people actually pass the 64 weeks of officer training without going to university.

you gonna tale their advice and take another 3 years out or do you feel like you cant wait any longer? if you did uni first then went in, when you come out you will still be quite a young man depending when you leave with uni degree and royal marines officer on your cv. now thats gotta open some doors

I'm going to head to university now, gain some maturity and gain some strength in my legs (my main weakness - I failed the firemans carry abysmally as I was barely able to carry my own weight). I cannot stress enough the importance of having strong legs.

I'm going to study Sports Science in University as thats pretty much the only thing i'm interested in (education wise). AIB seems a little out of ability at the moment but i'll give it a go. If i fail or not i'm still going to university to get some life experience and try again later on.
