"All right, they're on our left, they're on our right, they're in front of us, they're behind us...they can't get away this time"
I was OPTAC Training with 42 the other week.
42 are going out to bowlster security for the Royal Engineers who are already out there building the camp in HELLmend.
Once its done they come back 16AA led by 3 Para battlegroup which includes me of D Sqn Household Cavalry go out for our stint. to be taken over by the 3 Comando Brigade later on which includes the QDG's who will be doing our job as the Recce eliment. I cant wait its what i joined the Army for because I aint been on Operations for a few years now.
Going back to the question of the SA80. That rifle is still the Rifle of the British Armed Forces. I saw the clip of 42 on the news and the weapons I saw were a few L96 Sniper Rifles and Minimies which every Regiment in the Army as well as the RM's have now days.
