Gap Year Commission

Well this is one option im considering for after college, it sounds great on paper, Do Some training and try being an army officer for a year but does anyone have any opinions on it?

Im suspicious that itll end up with sitting behind a desk making coffee or being like work experience (which i guess it is) im assuming they wouldnt put you into frontline or anything like that so what do GYCOs do?
