detached retina

Post by skygod75 »

I have had an operation for a detached retina about 5month ago. It was only noticed by chance on a routine checkup and i never had any symptoms to suggest i had one. It was caused years earlier from an impact injury (probably boxing) and not caused by natural weakness in the eye. My vision has never been a problem and even now after the op my vision is fine! My question is does anyone know exactly why a detached retina is an automatic bar on entry? Im really hoping that if I apply and tell them, they take a look at each individual case and take it from there.

That's really good that you're helping out here Chris, but is there any chance in future you not right completely in caps? It just annoys a few people.

Cheers mate, all the best :)

Im off to AFCO on monday so touch wood I may get somewhere but if not then such is life, I was in the TA Paras when I was younger and RAF Regiment last year so if I dont have no joy reapplyin I can can say Iv had a wicked time in the past and nothing can take that away from me!
