Hello Sailors!

Post by themattmeister »

Could anyone please tell me what information sources they found particularly useful whilst swatting up for their AIB?

Thank you for your time.

Cheers Marko.
Did you find any books that were useful in passing your AIB?

I'm going for the RM's, because it's pretty tight I want to learn absolutely everything I can about the Royal Navy as they concentrate heavily on this during the AIB as well the Marines. I've got a cracking book about the Marines but I want to find some about the Navy also. What are you entering the Navy as Marko?

Its Mark, lol sounds weird being called Marko. Anyway, Im not sure about where my career will go, I am going for Pilot/WSO for the RAF first. If I am unsuccessfull then I will try the RN for Pilot/Observer. I was in the RN before, as an AET, doing the AEA "fast-track" course to Petty Officer. I didnt enjoy it and didnt see my career panning out how I would like it to, so I left. I am going to college and then applying ( all going well ) next may/june for the RAF/RN. And see how it works out from there. Good luck on becoming an RM officer, its damn tough!

Have to agree here. I recently passed the AIB, and all you need to learn is on the official website. Don't waste your time searching for tons of information as it is all there for you. If you need help or have any questions on the individual parts of the AIB then you can PM me.

Haven't got a date for my AIB, I have to pass the POC first which is on 10th October, maybe I'm getting ahead of myself. :-?
