I would just like to point out that I am not now nor have ever been TA SAS. As in the Artist Rifles. My monicker is taken as it's what I do for a living nowadays. I Paint Pictures and stuff for money.

As Sneaky says the RM and the Paras are not SF. Even if the Mod say they are. SF forces when I joined up were just that SF. Little was known about them as they kept a very low profile. Then comes the Embassy Siege and the next thing you know SF is the dogs bollocks and every Tom, Dick and Harry you meet now seems to be a serving or ex member of the elite. Be it SAS, SBS or even the Salvation Army! :D

Was it a revolving door then? :D

I've met more ex SAS guys round where I live than Soft Mick. One who shall forever be engrained in my mind told me he was a Capt in the SAS. I went along with his fantasy as he was good for a few free wets.

Burst his bubble one New Years Eve/My Birthday party at our local Social Club. There he was wearing his SAS Blazer and Tie stood at the bar. I had dressed up as a bag of shit as there was a fancy dress competion going on as well (I Didnt win!!!! :o ). Anyway I looked him up and down and told him that he was odds on for first prize in the Fancy dress Competion! :D

Nasty? Well not really. He was a right Walter Mitty. After I had outed him in public he renouched his chairmanship of the Clubs Commitee and didnt go near the place for yonks. I knew he was an ex Leading Fireman with the Cheshire Fire Brigade from the word go but as I said he was generous with the Wets!
