PRMC date and advice

Post by Dave_n »

I've got my prmc date, 20th - 23rd september. Can't wait! So i have 7 weeks to get my self 110% ready.

I wanted to know if you would advice taking anything else apart from whats on the kit list?

Also wondered if anyone else has this date?

The kit list for the prmc should be sufficient mate. But when you used to get the kitlist for the start of training it left loads of things out.Thankfully after loads and loads of questionnaires filled in by nods over the past couple of years, theyve sorted that out.
Mybe take some 'Deep Heat' for the cramps and stuff you might get

Hey guys

Just been chatting to you. Seems we all have our PRMCs within weeks of each other, which is pretty cool

My new and revised training programme, which I'm going to keep up with until my PRMC is as follows:

Mon: Circuit with sprints
Tue: 4 mile steady run
Wed: Rest
Thurs: Circuit with sprints
Fri: 4 mile steady run
Sat: Rest
Sun: Optional 6 mile light run

I do a circuit of press-ups, sit-ups, pull-ups, squats and squat thrusts on the days I run.

There seems to be quite a few people going in for their PRMC around this time, too!

Anyway, good luck guys

Wow, dave_n, those scores are excellent :o

How long did it take you to get to that stage? Are those the amount of press-ups and sit-ups you can do in 2 min, or your maximums? Is this the typical fitness of a 'potential recruit' going down for PRMC?

Just passed my PJFT (9:18 min  ), so I should be getting a call soon to arrange my PRMC, but I'm confused what level of fitness I should be at before going for my PRMC.

I can do the maximums straight after a 3 mile run, which I can do in around 19-20 min, even after doing a few sprints before and after my run. Is this enough for PRMC or should I be looking to increase this, as I understand it is impossible to achieve these standards when you're down there?

Thanks

Running/sprinting wise im probably fine progress wise still a bit of work to do on the on the gym work (press/sits/pulls) though.
I do them, but not to the duration/intensity of PRMC standard but good old muscle memory should serve me well.

Can someone please tell me what Deep Heat is? One of the PTis thought that I had some on on bottem field.

Take some bog roll or tissue paper - on my PRMC one of the lads 'volunteered' to rob some from hunter company when it ran out. Oblis oil is also a good idea (stuff that you put under your nose to prevent blocks).

:D , I take it he didn't look on it too favourably?
Im not sure of the exact chemicals but I know it's like a gel that can help relieve general muscle aches and pains when rubbed in.
It has a distinct smell. Kind of like an old fashined version of Ralgex.

You have a date for another PRMC mate oh and Blair shall I take some reviving smelling salts as well ?
