hi mate, sounds like your talking about command tasks. we do a lot of these in my CCF just for teambuilding and looking for potential leaders. its the same basic principle for whatever unit your doing it in whether its the CCF or Para's. you asked for tips so -
1. if your the leader, elect a time keeper who tells you each minute how long you ahve to go. also optional elect a safety man who informs anybody if their close to the line of the minefield (always bloody is a minefield). elect a 2 i.c. that gets the job done as you need to stand back and figure out a plan
2. if your the leader, dont do any physical work yourself as you need to survey la situation.
3. if your not the leader, 'suggest' a plan if you have one. dont say 'do this or do that'. if the leader is trying to talk, dont speak over him.
4. if your the leader, listen to all plans from your men and once you've figured one out, just do a quick debrief before you start so they know what to do and when.
This is just a quick lesson in it, i could go into more detail but cant be arsed and you'll do alright anyways (you were a Para!!) . Good luck. W.W.W
