Anyone read the paper today - Navy will need 500 more marines this year to suffice the increase in the fleet. The two new air craft carriers look bloody awesome too.

Yeh my AFCO said they are screaming for recruits and i asked was the change in the PRMC made to make it easier to fill this requirement. He said no, the change was nothing to do with the shortage, its just to even out each day in terms of how demanding they are. because he said previously on day 2 there wasnt that much invlolved.

Somebody has been bending the truth again. (New Fr*ggin Labour probably). The fact of the matter is that the Corps will be a little over 500 short by the end of this year. Thats is, short of manpowerer to maintain its existing requirements. The DL's have been banned from shouting in some of the units 'cause you can hear the echo (joke ). The new ships carry the units we already have. You don't just put Marines on for the sake of it - certainly not on a carrier. I was on Hermes and there was only 32 of us and that was with four LC's. Regarding the "increase in the fleet - thats a good one! When I joined up there were 26 Leander Class frigates - thats just one type of ship. Now there 26 in the whole fleet
