I'm sure there's other posts in the armed forces you could try for, could look whatever you do.

Sorry to hear that a year has gone down the tube.

However the option of Clerk. SA, or driver will still keep you in the mob. I was Med Downgraded in 1985 and to be honest was set to Wrap Me Hand in but decided to go Printer (now long disbanded)

An Oppo of mine knackered his knees and went SA. Did his 22 and left as a WO2. Once your in a unit no ones going to give a toss that your not P2 just as long as you can still do your job. I knew a bloke who Roman Candled at Dunkerswell and was at CTC for 2 years until finally he admitted defeat and decided to be trained as a Clerk, got his green lid and flashes and also was given the Kings Badge even though he did not pass out with a troop. He was made of the "Right Stuff" and the Corp want people with that in their head. So don't Wrap just yet, have word with your OC and see what can be done Oppo. And daft as it sounds your ankle may improve as you go on.

Mate I'm really sorry to hear about your ankle.

You obviously had the right head on to stick at for a year. And like the others said please stick around the forums, your input is always read and appreaciated by us wannabes.

All the best for the future, watch out for them trees they can move pretty fast when they want to

It doesn't quite work that way any more Artist, unless you are downgraded after you get a green lid, if your injury is deemed quite bad in training you are binned, which at the moment is happening a lot.

Rugee - Footballers and athletes in general get killer injuries i.e Henrik Larson and Cisse. They usually bounce back after awhile. Is there no chance that you could in the very long term, say a couple of years, when its all healed and strong saying 'please can I come back?'.

The difference though mate is athletes dont go on 30milers or yomps with 100lbs+ of kit on their back over long periods of time. Even if i did manage to pass out i would instantly get downgraded to smething along the lines of chef or clerk and i sure as hell didnt join to do those jobs.
