Are you allowed to have relationships with other officers?
Are you allowed to have relationships with other officers?
I'm at uni at the moment and I'm planning on joining the intelligence corps as an officer. My guess is that an officer can't have a relationship with people under their command or even people serving alongside them, i'd imagine it would be seen as quite unprofessional. Could someone plz enlighten me on the armies policy regarding this...

I suppose if you're discrete then you could biff whoever you liked, not sure what it's got to do with the army unless you want to hold hands with your oppo walking down the main drag or swap spit with him/her in the mess.
There was a wren education officer at HMS Drake who once 'educated' five lowly bootnecks in one go in the grots at Stonehouse - not sure any of them kissed the lady good night at the end of the show though

Sully,
Her name wasnt fiona or Josie by any chance and no its wasnt me.
If it was Fiona she was a miserable B****and went all rightous when we were at lydd doing civpop for 42Cdo 1986ish. Not once did i sneak a bootneck into the wrens accomodation................................there were plenty old cars lying around and Raglan waste i too believe was quite popular!!!

Hello flo, nice to see you back. I wasn't there (honest
) so I don't know. The funniest bit was (apparently) 'Happy' - named for his dead pan demeanor (never saw him smile, not once) hearing the commotion, walked into the grot, without a word (or a smile) he earnestly and furiously cracked one off in said lady's grid, zipped up and with a "cheers lads" returned to his Abba albums and logic puzzles - not even a "how was it for you?" for the lady of easy virtue

boys im afraid to say she should have been more worried about how a Royal marine wife would react..........one ballgown later.
Luckily for me i was sitting with the Q-man and the ASM and had there full backing. However next day the Sgt Major phones jed and tells him to report to his office, jed then went and was asked for an apology......did he get it, did he hell. As jed explained she was a private who overstepped the line and it was a Mess function and she shouldnt have been there, never mind making up stupid stories and ruining our night.
So you see do relationships cause problems between different ranks...........................................now let me think.
PS does anyone know a good tailoress
Three weeks ago myself and Jed attended the LAD mess welcome home function. We had just arrived when a women whom neither of us had met came up and said to jed that he had been P****d as a fart at a previous do (no change there then). Then she promptly said that he had taken a certain piece of his anatomy and placed it in her hand. Give Jed his due he told me straight away that he had apparently done this and was mortified, so much so that he wanted to do the desent thing and leave the do to save the 'lady' any embarrasment. Then all of a sudden 4 Sqdron Sgt Major comes over as i am debriefing Jed and said that he shouldnt go. By this point i was like Zebedee on Acid and was raging, (despite the fact that jed hadnt done anything). When the Sgt Major found out that i was going ballistic and in tears he confessed that the woman was his girlfriend, a private in the same regimentand she had thought it was a laugh to make up this story to 'see how a Royal Marine would react.' I do know of highter ranks humping junior ranks who they work with but, as they never let it affect their working lives, there was no problem. that, quote]
