Post by willgoodman »

Hey Guys,

Just thought i'd drop a quick line to some of the guys who started training around the same time as me. I.e. 884-886 hope you're all gettin on well.

YO batch is through commando course now and will be off to unit in December. Have our riot training then 3 weeks in the states with the USMC coming up, it's gonna be f'ckin redders!

Anyway, wondering if there are any young hopefuls for YO2005 on here, get in touch if you are.

Will

I'm a hopeful for the YO batch of 2006.

What was your CV looking like when you attended the Admirality Interview Board? I know the kind of boxes they want ticked the problem is that I didn't do much at university, accept the obvious. With joining the TA, training, boxing, working a full time job and getting my scuba certificate this year the schedule seems pretty harry toppers so I'm not going to have time to help the blind children, volunteer at the old people's home or do the sponsored baked bean bath for charity. Will this pose much of a problem when it comes to getting a commission? ie are they strictly looking for former head boy, captain of the school rugby team altruistic, philanthropist sorts?

Hi Will,

Just had my joining instructions through for the '05 YO Batch. Wondered if you had any tips for phys leading up to training, kit you need to get and/or advice for the first few weeks at Lympstone.

Cheers,

Mike
