I don't blame you if you decide to stay away but for what it's worth, I know that Larry Martin feels badly for his part of what happened. He e-mailed me several times yesterday and each time he expressed regret.
I don't want to appear that I'm taking his side in the issue because I'm NOT!! I watched the fussing going on in that thread and was hoping it would stop but it didn't turn out that way.

Hi Tang! Glad I caught up with you! I'll sure miss your posting on the SFTT forum! Actually it's slow as molasses today because all you rascals were banned! I think they have figured out that you all are what makes the world go 'round on that site!
I'm taking a "wait and see" approach... I will say that I don't like the way things are going over at the old forum though..
When it comes to conversation, parties, social events, etc I like anarchy... I hate when stuff is planned and choreographed...
Throw a subject for discussion out on the table, let people say what they want... call "bullshi+" on what needs to be called, argue some more, move on... When things are debated there are going to be some hurt feelings.. The only way to stop that is to eliminate those who disgree (CW come to mind)...
This particular case, you have a loon that rabidly declares that the Second Amendment is irrelevent and starts spewing rhetoric of how things should be which is basically everyone except him and minorities should be disarmed... On a military forum no less and acted surprised when others started shooting back...

Then I read the many PM's and particularly the ones from Ardy and Sub stuck out this morning.
First let me say once again I appreciate the solidarity, the loyalty and the fact you all never forgot. Be you USAF, USN, USA or the G/D Marine Corps you never forgot that we never leave one another behind. You can't imagine how much that means to a guy who in everyday life is in a university scene of every man for himself. Sub your PM this morning made me think btw, and don't think I haven't noticed or been touched by you all's responses and hard work to get me, Machine and Tang back on.
Sub said something that got my attention. He said that without us (I take that as all of us) the place will shrivel and die. Now I believe that is true. And to be honest I get some delight out of the notion that the place after what it has become would shrivel and die.
However, then I remember the Col. we all loved the Col. and there isn't a one of us I wouldn't dare think who disagreed with the Col.s overall message. That was to keep 10 yards and to take care of the troops, those who in our system are not allowed a voice other than ETS'ing.
When I remember that and when Hack told me when I was ETS'ing that serving my country didn't stop there I think myself, us, we need to stand for the troops. Who else will?
Now that Hack is gone they have this board of directors, now this board knows that they can never be Hack. Notice their president doesn't write a weekly article, so just who is going to Defend America? Well the board of directors isn't. What they will do is politicize the war, the soldiers, the dead and the wounded. They will do so for money, for political favor and to get their man elected whoever that may be.
Any long time reader or associate of Hack knew the Col. called spades spades. He was not party loyal, when they fk'd the troops he came down hard on either side and by God he thrashed the corrupt ass Pentegon like a LCPL who was late for formation.
That is the Hack I still remember, the one we remember I believe and the Hack they the new regime want to forget.
Well I'm tired of forgetting things that are good, and yes it would be easy to walk away and laugh as the spammers post mindless propaganda turn that forum and site on end, I cannot and will not allow and I hope you won't either the troops to be waved like a bloody shirt at any administration for the sake of propaganda and to be forgotten as soon as their pitiful pictures get this gang of thugs what they want, a socialist regime, money and political affirmation.
When someone dies I believe sure they go to heaven or hell, but if they are remembered they never really die from this earth. Inside everyone of us is a bit of the Col. and together we can carry his message and if we do so with the solidarity shown these past few days we could and should return to that site and deny those vultures from turning the name Hack into an corrupt corporation.
My plan is though we clean up the place, how exactly? Well that is where you all come in. I'm open to ideas, and I want to get more active on behalf of the troops, and maintaining the integrity of our Constitution, the one the politicians want to see dead as it is a roadblock in their agendas.
I expect some politics, I'll engage in them even, but it seems that the forum in doing so for so long has forgotten Hack and the troops.

Chris said that they don't like how the forum is going, and he offered no suggestions on what they wanted to see. Well that tells me they are clueless in the upper command. I know I got an idea on what to do and so do ya'll. Besides that is our damn forum, our site and Hack was our senior officer.
I am not nieve, I know and know for a fact people vistit that site to read our comments, and when they stop by they sometimes buy something or donate some scratch. Without that us not only will the forum die, but so will the site imo. And if it does how will Hacks message continue? Only through us will it continue, we got a responsibility. Like it or not we do. Sometimes what you are or what you do isn't something that you choose, it chooses you.
Tang I know you paid 10 bucks, so did I and I love these people here like family. I'll post here and offer in invite for those here to post over at Hacks. I come here to clear my head and for advice anyway. I want, I need you to come back. Machine, same thing I need you and Afi to return. We can post here as well, but people like you all know what Hack wanted.
And everyone thank you and I hope you agree with me on this and together I hope we can carry on what Hack wanted us to carry on, the fight for justice and accountability for the troops and to keep this country reminded of itself.
It seems anymore only veterans know that and serving troops, but hell they can't talk.

Afi, me and you gots something in common, I'll figure it out later. But I will be bouncing back from here to there if Chris accepts my terms and anything you all might add. Something we forum members need to remember is that this place is a part of Col Hackworth's legacy and we (myself included) should conduct ourselves in a more honorable manner. Not for political correctness, but out of respect for the man. Pull no punches, shoot straight, but do it cleanly. Most of us here are adult enough to know when someone is joking and someone is insulting
