Running shoes

Any of you guys got any decent runnign shoes you would recommend? Going to start doing much more running and want to invest inna decent pair but nothing unnecessarily flash.

I wear a pair of new balance shoes, i forget the model and they are in the other room... they fit the foot very comfortably, not exactly moulding to the shape but forming around it to provide a better cushion. Only downside I have found is that they are slightly too low around the ankle, this isn't a huge problem but it could cause support issues for some people.

I was told by a foot doc that new balance are the best shoes you can get for the money for running. I dont have a pair myself, but I had some foot issues and they were recomended by more then one doc.

I also wear New Balance and I've heard Asics are just as good. It's important to have them look at your feet while you run a few steps so they can recommend some proper fitting shoes. My feet over-pronate and I never would have bought shoes with the right support if I hadn't done this.

I'll just quote this to emphasise the importance of getting the right shoe. It is possible that you could over-pronate a bit or sustinate, which is the opposite to over-pronation. At a PROPER running store they will use all sorts of kit to check your running form thus supplying you with some sought after running apparatus.

on a budget the go for asaics 1090's about £40
got lots of cash then try asaics kayano's about £110 for this years but approx £60 for last years
new balance are good but a wide fit
asaics are great but dont last long
go to a running shop and not JJB'S get a fitting for the correct shoe the surf the net for the best price
i only use asaics now and find them best suited to my style of running

I got these Puma sprints and there not actully that good. You would think they were made for running because of the name...but dont get them. But thats not the question your asking.

No one here can tell you which pair of shoes to wear, as they have no knowledge of your feet. Your best bet is to find a proper running shop and ask them for advice. Make sure it IS a proper running shop, as places like JJB generally know naff all. If they don't make you run up and down the street a couple of times, they aren't doing their job properly.

That said, New Balance are really good. It's what I wear and they give really good support to my feet.
