Love of your country is very lacking in the UK or so it seems to me. The Yanks still fly the Stars and Stripes outside all their schools whilst here they don't because they are afraid it will upset some Minority Group.

Owdun I used to feel that way about the British and they taught us to hate you all in school, well in my school anyway over 1775.

I will say though that the UK from what I read seems to have egalitarianed itself out of a country, culture and heritage. Don't feel bad we will be like you in 10 years if we don't go flat broke.

As for the shoe guy, they did what they could, short of shooting him. Saw a video some time after that arrest. They pressurized an old airliner airframe up on the ground ( 747 )and set off an explosive of equal value of what shoe guy had. Broke the aircraft like a kids toy from the overpressure produced.
