Exercise

Post by donnakebab »

I am going back into the LI in a few months (was up to week eighteen) and was just wondering, is it just me who thinks going on exercise is the shittest part of the army? its well good in camp and all that but does anyone else think going out in the field is pretty SHIT ?

I used to love going out on exercise, the food was better, the accom was better, I loved a good yomp then digging in and then attacking a serbian village near Salisbury.

If you dont like exercises then I would suggest if you get past week 18 again then you aint going to like Army life much at all. Add to which one day you may go operational and its the same as exercise (ish) except its twice as hard and the pop up targets return fire or in some cases open up first.

The only bit I didnt like was de-rigging post exercise/op.

But tis part of life my man so crack on and as you army types say "its 0230hrs your stag!"

This is a wind up right? Camp routine is mind numbingly boring and mundane. Maybe if you'd made it to your battalion you would've realised this.

The whole point of joining the army is about getting down and dirty and getting out and about.

Would you rather spend a 22 year career sitting in your room playing an x box? On second thoughts don't answer that question...............

If you like the easy life why are you even thinking of rejoining the Army?

Stay in your Office/Shop Floor because you wont like the real world thats for sure.

I love going on Exercise, but they are a lot harder now i am doing Tac Ex's rather than the camping Intro Ex's. Have my last Tac Ex starting wednesday, Tac Ex 3. Going to be great, three days of constant digging while being attacked and getting no sleep. Only got Final Ex after that then. Whats the best bit about being on exercise? zipppppppp, when you just get in your gonk bag to get your head down. Whats the worst part? "Rambo, get up its your stag" :s
Get on "PARADE"

You need some sort of handy number somewhere, like tea boy to the bedding storeman in Garelouch.
