Ill answer for you, as im curious how the us reports on uk troops

the bbc doesnt really attack us troops at all.

The papers..hmm generally they have been fine, if anything they have hinted that us forces are not as good at peacekeeping, due to the lack of experience, and constraints of their rules (apparently you are not allowed to remove helmet and body armor for instance). The shootings post war in kabul have been reported neutrally, showing the us forces opinion, and the local crowd opinion of the incident.

Hope thats informative for u ;p

The US news has not reported anything bad about the UK forces. I will say this. The ROE's you talkeed about are true. I hate them. Peace keeping is a nightmare for any Marine or soldier as I'm sure you are aware. Alot of the Marines currently serving in Iraq are reservists. I can say that there are ALOT of police officers serving so hopefully common sense will prevail over there, but I doubt it. Flaks and helmets are a joke... Im sure they have to stay buttoned up as we did in Somalia. I disagree with that as well. Honestly, I love the UK forces and the RM. I can't say anything bad about you guys and neither has the american media. I just used that as bait...... sorry.

Well I have read and re read some of the comments in this thread. Oh lordy first time that I have ever actually followed such absolute and utter "Crap".
So sorry, some of the Crap is true ? The dead are dead true. The cock ups true. The Blue on Blue true. So where does the "Crap" come in u may ask?
WE and that is at first the US?British went into this together didnt we?
WE fought and some of our comrades died alongside one another didnt they?
WE both cocked up blue on blue this time didnt we?
WE both sent Reserve troops didnt we?
Now Im talking crap?
I have served with and along side Yanks many times, and we the Brits have always repeat always been at their throats one way or tother.
BECAUSE it has been our way.
However having been out of the Army for a few years I have missed the NAAFI/PX chats we used to have over a few beers, ending up in a drunken and lovelable fight.
We Brits are great that is with the WELSH SCOTS IRISH alongside us.
For me the Yanks are a great bunch of blokes too, no I dont eat Mcdonalds either.
We have and always will love the hate them, tis the British way.
However dont care what you lot say Im bloody glad that they are with us and not agen us.
P.S. You lot of hard nose Brits want to check out yer TV sets aint you heard of the new CONSTITUTION that is being fobbed onto us Brits???

I would advise all countries to fight the EU with all you guys have....it's one step closer to a global government, but unfortunately it will happen and there will be another World War by the end of my days.

Right...just read every thread, stopped and counted to ten (No, I didn't have to use my fingers!)..some comments made my blood boil... :2gunfire:
I've had these arguments before with people - always a big debate (mass debate??!!) on US/UK forces - who's the best, who makes the mistakes, who's to blame, who's the most professional! I've had them face to face with Yanks and fell out with a few! Both sides won't back down and won't admit they're in the wrong. For what it is worth for any doubting US "cousins" reading this - More Brits WERE killed by Americans than Iraqis, that incident with the US shooting at our Chinooks was true... how ignorant/stupid can they be! Hit a Tornado returning to base (human error? But how many Iraqi aircraft are there!!) US forces have shot and killed innocent protesters in Baghdad, shot at and killed journalists in a jounalist desiganated hotel etc..... Not saying that we haven't made mistakes out there but I don't think we have made huge cock ups like they have and acted unprofessionally on occasions!
Talking to a mate about this and he agreed and told me a story about when the top brass (US and Canadian) gathered for a demo from the USAF... everybody was in one location looking at the targets, waiting for these aircraft to come in, show what firepower they had etc.....
Well.... they swept down and blew the fu<k out of the crowd - a big selection of top dogs! Got to say I wasn't surprised!
This has to be said and they have to recognise their mistakes - they have a huge military, want for nothing and yet make bloody stupid mistakes which cause unecessary deaths!
:banghead:

Phew! Got to lie down now!
