Does anyone have an idea of how long it takes from when you let the AFCO know your ready to attempt it, until you actually get your date to go down. Cheers.
I went into my AFCO on November 25th and my PRMC is 7th March, but it depends on how many places are availible, if you fall off the treadmill and sprain your ankle for the PJFT etc.....

They should contact you after you do a PJFT, thats when u go down to the AFCO, have a very short discussion on your PJFT time and decide which PRMC you want to go on.
Ive already done my PJFT and had an acquaitance day. Ill phone them tomorrow and try and book one in about june/july. I want to book it now so the pressure is on and I dont lack in training. Im not going to go all the way down to Lympstone to fail.
No, best to get in contact with your AFCO mate. As soon as I took in my PFJT results my AFCO asked me when I wanted to do my PRMC and got it sorted then and there.
I used search to see what the PFJT consisted of but only came up with two finds. So i suppose its not been mentioned what happens in the PFJT? what is it?
Pre Joining Fitness Test - 1.5miles(2.4km) in under 10mins 45 secs on a treadmill at a designated Gymnasium. This is completed after successfully passing the Aptitude Test and Interview stages of RM recruitment.
No gradient is put on the machines and you have a 5 min warm up on it to test the speeds.
Nade goto your AFCO and get these questions answered by them,
You do the multiple choice test. (English section, maths section and a mechanical section)
Then you have an interview (speaks for itself really)
Then its the medical (blood pressure is taken, stretches, p!$$ on a stick lol, basic medical.
Then the PJFT. (You have to goto a choice of gyms, Obviously ones that the royal navy have agreements with so they can trust those gyms.)
Then ofcourse PRMC.
If your still unsure how the application process works just go and talk to the AFCO, It makes much more sense when somebody is telling you face to face.
Cheers, yeah I knew about the application process just not about the PJFT really and the aptitude test people have mentioned in a few posts. Its basically the same as joining up the RMR and its all pretty much straight forward.

I phoned up the AFCO and my recruiting officer said she would book me in for the 21st of June (3 months of hardwork then). Im waiting for confirmation though and need to go down to the AFCO in April.
