I was told a story by a C.Sgt when I was in RMR, it was about a guy who ran a 6mile speed march with all there kit on with a broken ankle! (without the training team knowing ofcourse) He couldnt run for months after that mind you but that is a serious injury and he put it aside coz he wanted to complete the march so badly. Obv dont go and do somthing like that, but maybe a point can be seen from the story.....

Thing that gets me is it doesn't have an 'R' or 'L' woven into the sock with cotton to tell you which foot to adorn the sock on. Is there a insider, professional tip to find out?
When I was walking my cat around the block I got the distinct impression people were laughing at me as my socks were on the wrong way round.

There was a lad on my PRMC who was a rejoin who said on one field exercise he completely screwed his back up and had to yomp another 5/6 miles back in absolute agony, he managed to get back to his grot before collapsing.

Certain people I knew in training had real problems getting left and right Sussed out. So our Wonderful, Nice, Compassionate all Round Good Egg and Brick of a DL who also uses this Forum (Hi Yorkie!
) was known to give them little ribbons. One pink one and one blue one to tie on their wrists.
"Right then thar thick bugger, Pink ist fer Left and Blue ist fer right. Right? Now are thee sure thas got that then hast tha? Goood. Cos iffen tha Cockup agin Lad and thars gonna wish tha were int the bloody Brownies!"
It's not all beasting and stuff Lads. You will have a fair few laughs with your training teams, of that I am 100 percent sure. Bootnecks have an evil sense of humour.
Just engage your brain before asking daft questions OK?
