A Few Questions

Post by Chris_Webb »

Just a few things i hope someone can help me out with!

1. Is it neccecary to take the NAMET exams in training if you already have the equivilent qualifications?

2. Is there a limit to the amount of people you are allowed to bring down on the family day and the pass out?

3. What type of boot are you issued at the start? I have an average pair of Assaults that i have been training in, i was told these were the basic army issue boots, are these the same you get in the Marines?

Cheers Fellas,
Chris

Namet is only for those without the quals. If they want to reach rank of CPL then they take it. It's a GCSE in Eng and Maths I believe.

I also believe it's 6 people on the family day but I don't know whether the size of the troop is a factor.

As for the boots, dunno

The number of people left in the troop at Kings squad does count for the number of people that are allowed to come down during the passing out parade. When my brother passed out there was only 15 people left in his squad so one of the lads had 16 people down to see him. I think you can bring a couple more than you are allowed but they have to watch the issuing of the green berets on a video screen in a different room.

NAMET

Can be the downfall for a fair rew people. Quals to join up are minimum but NAMET must be passed. People have been backtrooped due to their inability to hack and pass NAMET. If you have passed GCSE in Maths & English your can ignore it.

As I have said a lot of people will find it strange to be back to School at CTCRM but Pusser wont let you pass out of training until you have NAMET. 5/5 is the bog standard pass. Big fit blokes have struggled in training because they cannot crack NAMET.

It is not all "a running and a leaping" in training. A lot of time will be spent in classrooms learning all the things you will need before the Green Lid is placed on your head.

Ranks up to C/Sgt just need NAMET. After that you need two or more GCSE/O level for Warrent Rank.

Hi mate,

Yes, they are the basic army issue boots. You also get issued with a pair of thick socks and insoles when passing PRMC.

Recruits are currently issued CAB Boots - Comabat Assault Boots on day one. If however they suffer from any injury that the Doc recons can be helped by different ones, they are issued with a variety of really Gucci ones - much to the envy of the training teams :x
