Andy McNab was in the SAS - he passed the toughest selection course in the world to get there. Calling him a "twat" is a bit much.

Fair enough Del point taken. I agree with the minority group issue.

Also witnessed the following in Newcastle whilst watching an orange march on Sunday, just happened they were parading while I was in the amusements with my children.

Small boy about 5: Dad who are the men wearing the uniforms? (sashes etc)

Dad: Black bastards wee man.

Needless to say I kept my mouth shut!! hardly surprising we are in the state we are in if parents teach their children that!!

del i of course agree with you anyone can be a twat if they want to be but i would think if you are going to call someone on a forum like this that you would be decent enough to explain why you think that person is a twat in the first place

i mean like does student have inside information that some of us are not aware and if so untill he shares it with us

i would rather have that twat andy watching my back then some twat stabbing me in the back

enough said me thinks unless student can explain some more

I can call him a twat...... For several reasons.

1. He does not know where I live.
2. He is not likely to find out where I live.
3. Firstly I will say that I was not a member of B20. I have read a plethora of information and watched numerous programs regarding this patrol. I do not believe that all of his exploits are exploits. Many I believe are ficticious. I have to say however, hats off to this gentleman. He has made bucket loads of money as a result of this war.
4. It does not change my opinion that he is a liar and should go into politics. If Arnie can suceed..................

Gore.

Major Kong, "Shoot, a fella could have a pretty good weekend in vegas with all that stuff....."
Gore, "The first casualty of war is your underpants....."

Does anyone disagree with that reasoning?
Thats a good point if ever I`ve heard one.

Oh come on, you dont have to be SF to know that large parts of Bravo Two Zero were spiced up. I believed it all as well at first. Im not denying the guys valour or that he didnt deserve his decorations but he seems to be an egotist. Why the need to hide his face for a start? Do the Provos or Saddam Hussain still have a contract out on him? Talk about hamming it up...

There was an SBS guy caught running drugs a few years ago. Would you say the same about him?? What a dumb argument.

Can I ask the people who think that McNab is a twat how did they come to that judgement? Do you really know what happened during the BTZ patrol? Do you know McNab personally?

I accept that McNabs book does contain some exagerations. However the man worte his book to make money, not to prove something. Ryans account makes more exagerations, but again for the same reason - to make the book a better read for money. Asher's book is one sided from the beginning on behalf of Vince's family. The only book about the patrol that is reliable is Mike Coburns Soldier Five - being the only one that didnt write his book for money.

Hey, when you pass Selection you can have a go at McNab, but until then the fact remains that he was SF, and you aren't.

If we're thinking of the same guy, he was (apparently) innocent.
