NEWBIE IN NEED OF HELP !!!!!!!!!
I bought this backpack from a hiking shop with the straps for around your beer gut and chest and the stagg SGt at the AFCO said dont use it, you might knacker your kness, we will teach you how to run with one.Tab wrote:Now start running with a pack on your back with some wet sand in it, this will help you get used of doing when you are training and it will toughen the skin on your shoulders. Also try out a gym where you can use their wieghts and other equipment.
Hmmm.
Tuck me dads advice and i put surgical spirit on the balls of me feet and down the sides twice a week. He used to be a black belt in taekwondo and said it hardens up your skin so it dosent blister or break. JUST DONT PUT IT INBETWEEN YOUR TOES

if your going to start running with weights my advice is to start walking first. Start with 5lb (I know it's not alot) but start a full week walking with it for 6km. Week 2, after your warm up; run with the same weight for 2.5km. Don't do anymore weight running all week and don't do any running the day after. Work on lower muscles and finish the week off with upper muscle work outs. Week 3 do the same but with 10lb so on and so on. And slowly increase mileage. Don't do what I did and think you can run every day with weights or walk for miles. Your not capable of doing it stright away, although you might think you are. Your bones need the time to build and strengthen.
Believe me you'll start getting knee pain and worst f@#k thing of all shin splints...You'll get a rush of motivation to run every day, but try to control yourself!
