Sweaty Hands!

Post by uk_Taylor »

My hands are none stop sweaty! If you can't do the pull ups or jerry can carry because they keep slipping out, can you still pass? Would they let me wear gloves?

Anyone with the same problem? lol

I'll try to stay off the moisturiser, I think I need to harden the skin! :D

May sound daft but why not put chalk packs in your shorts.

You wont fall off beams and drop jerry cans due to excessive sweat - That's an excuse people use. Just practise the exercises while you're sweaty and you'll have no probs when you do it for real.

Do you think you're the first person to get sweaty hands? Everyone does when they exercise, why should you have an unfair advantage in the form of gloves?

Everyone has sweaty palms, especially when nervous during selection and are hanging out! But if you are that concerned then have a search on Google for some grip strengthening exercises. These will help you with gripping onto things (obviously :P)

I was wondering, do you also have hair on the palms of your hands, as this could indicate another problem.

On the jerrycan walk, you get really sweaty hands and it feels like they will slip, but you just have to grip harder, they give you chalk before you go on the beam so you will be ok.

hi

If its really bad its probably a recognised medical condition called hyperhydrosis. It can be fixed with something called a thorascopic sympathectomy. The surgeoon basicaly makes small incisions in your chest to disrupt the processes causing profuse sweating in your hands. It takes about 1 hour in an out patient capacity at a hospital. You could get it done on the NHS. (i love google)
