Fitness level

Post by Rhino »

I am starting basic on the 15th November and just want to know what sort of level my fitness has to be at? After passing the PRMC I have let it slip a little

You need to back up to PRMC level or you will get the chop in foundation. You would have been given a fitness guide when passing PRMC so just do the exercises in there and you should be fine.

as well as maintaining your fitness, you should work on getting your feet hard.
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, thoroughly used, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming... 'F*ck, what a trip!'

hey im not thinking of applying till next year in spring but i think a good way to train for prmc is to train when you are tired and sore for example if u done cv for three days throughout the week and muscle work for three days throughout the week as in cv one day muscle work the next to start with your muscles would be sore from the muscle work and when you do cv it would be hard because of aching muscles but after a while your body would get used to it your muscles dont hurt after a good 10 weeks of doing this so therefore when at prmc most people pull out because on day 3 there is the 3mile run and gym test 2 and most people probably pull out because they dont train day after day ie running when sore from muscle work. so i think if this program is done after a while your body would become almost imune to having sore muscles the day after hard muscle work ie prmc so by theory on day three the work of day 2 would not be affecting you as much. also i think from watching and listening for a while that its not just the type f person its the way they train i think in order to succeed in the prmc conditions ie pushing urself with sore muscles from day before you have to train in these conditions trying to push urself with running with sore muscles from day before :D hope this is help and not non sense please reply

Personally I don't think that is the right way to train. If you have trained at that intensity for 3 days in a row and your muscles and body are aching, they need a rest. take a day off and do some swimming to loosen up instead. Gradually build yourself up to that level and when you can max all the scores individually, stick them together and incorporate that into your training programme. It takes time to get there - don't rush it or you will hurt yourself. DON'T RUSH IT!!.
