Screw the Army - Part II
Screw the Army - Part II
Hi. Me again.
I haven't gone away y'know. I just thought I would drop y'all a line and let you know what has been since I was last on the forums.
The last time I was on I was seriously pissed off with the Army and the way that I have been f*cked around with my application to join. I was so peeved I had decided to give up the idea of joining altogether.
I took a step back from the whole thing and never thought about it for about two weeks. It was then I took the decision that some d*ckhead in the AFCO who was not doing his job right was not getting the better of me and stopping me from doing the job I wanted to do.
I then decided to embark on a mission of annoying the sh*t out of the careers office until I knew what was happening with my application.
Guess what? It worked! After 4 months of complete stalemate I got some information that was useful!
I called the AFCO on Monday and was speaking to someone who was surprisingly helpful. He informed me that my application was being held up because the RSC doctor was waiting for further information from my consultant. They told the AFCO they had written to him and were awaiting a response.
Guess what? I called my consultant's secretary and guess what? They have never received any correspondence from the Army.
In short, my application was being held up awaiting information that they had never asked for! I called the AFCO. They said they will call the RSC and get the request re-issued.
Advice to anyone joining.
Do not wait under the pretence that your application is "in process". Most likely, like mine it has fell down behind the couch and unless you call and call and annoy the living sh*t out of your AFCO nothing will happen.
They have two weeks to get this sorted or I am back on the phones.
Annoy Annoy Annoy!

Yup. That's what I intend to do. As I have no recruiter assigned I speak to a different person every time I call. All of them in that office will know my name until it gets sorted. I'm getting there. I think I have spoken to just about everyone there. One or two are helpful - most are useless.Gary_amsterdam wrote:Yes, that's what I did for two weeks, rang palace baracks untill I heard them say : "oh no its that f@#k from amsterdam again"
