Frustrated Mermaid Joins The Crew

Post by Seaspryte »

:lilangel: Ahoy there or whatever is acceptable in Navy speak.
VERY much wanted to join the Royal Navy when I was younger, but sadly for various reasons I didn't and yes if I'm honest I do regret it now.
But hey that's life..we make our choices and have to live with them.
I have a keen interest in ALL things maritime and yes this does of course include our lovely sailors

Very willing and pleased to chat with anyone on this Military Forum, but naturally enough especially anyone actually serving or retired Naval personnel or anyone who shares my interest generally in the sea.

:D Hello again everyone, thanks for the welcome. Although as stated in my original post I'm a keen Maritime enthusiast, I do actually have an interest in all aspects of military life and all the forces.
My late grandfather and stepdad were both army men.
I have the greatest respect for the people who are willing to do this work and serve their country.
The main difference I think in the navy now and from when I first wanted to join up, was that women didn't then go to sea.
Ha! I expect there are a few blokes out there who wish they were still landlocked like me :P
Seriously though, feel free any WRENS to chat and tell it like it is for girls working alongside their male colleagues on board a ship.

No Mike, the avatar isn't actually me, I just resemble it a bit so used it as my ID pic on here as I haven't one to upload onto my profile.
It is intriguing though to see what people online do look like in person as we all no doubt have a picture in our minds of what certain posters look like.
Well I'm sure you're
all a very handsome bunch on here and look forward to dropping me anchor and paying you a visit again soon.

Welcome to the forum, seaspryte. My mother too, wanted to join the Navy as a teenager. But along I came and ruined everything. :D
