last time i did a bleep test, i only got about 12.8 (was in the officer training corps), because i hadn't trained for sprints...the guys who seemed to do well, as in touching 14 to mid 14, played rugby and football quite a bit for uni so it was incorporated into their training.
as Rambo said, i doubt you'd hit 16, never mind 17, by doing runs at 9 min mile pace, which is quite slow anyway.
either way, you'd have to be bloody fit to hit 16.

I managed to get level 13 on my PRMC. I could have gone for longer (don't know how much, but longer), but level 13 was the highest level required so the tape was stopped. I mostly train cross country at about 7min/mile pace with sprints added (about 100m each time). I either run a 5 mile circuit or an 8 mile circuit. PLENTY of hills as I'm on Dartmoor, makes it......."interesting" shall we say.
I'm interested to see what level 16 is like.
