I've read all the arguments over trunks vs shorts for PRMC, but can one of the lads who've recently started tell me definitively - are 'normal' swim shorts okay for training, or do you have to have trunks?

Cheers...

Purely on a practical basis, without satire or girly who looks a dilly comments.
Trunks, fit like Y fronts. When you do your BFT and have to remove your outer clothing in the pool it would be easier if you are wearing trunks. Shorts may well get hauled off with your trousers. Why make it harder?
You should talk to somebody who gives a f**k.

How about those skimpy shorts, similar to lycra shorts? They are similar to trunks in that they are aerodynamic and dont absorb any water, and do not look like beach ware! :-?

I would go for a thong but don't forget to do your bikini line first, from what I can gather full brazilian is in favour at the moment with a landing strip being frowned upon.

We all had to buy trunks in Exeter because we wern't allowed to wear shorts. Imagine 40-50 lads going into JJB buying trunks. I was stuck with a pair of 30inch adidas hotpants and im a 34, doesn't leave much for the imagination. Don't buy any yet though as it depends on your PTI.

Cheers lads, I'll get me some plain shorts then. I can understand the up sides of trunks, but I have a very strange 'thing' about y-fronts and trunks...fine with tight boxers to stop chaffage, but just don't like y-fronts! I know it's childish, but hey, everyone has their little fads

Dave.mil, I'm off down the salon tomorrow to get it done :o

What ever happened to the good old Pussers Knitted trunks... the ones that absorbed 3/4 of the water in the pool and slowly allowed gravity to kick in, while standing on the edge of the pool being Bollocked by your PTI for having one foot on the bottom while doing a width?
