...During your training, are you allowed to take an Mp3 player? to listen to when your in your room? reason being, i have many thousands of songs on my Ipod and music is like...part of my life, i love it.
Suppose you can my mate did he said it was fine but its up to the training staff and your gonna be doing loads of stuff so you wont even think of listening to music
Man, your gunner sgt sounds like a right b*ast*rd, hope I don't get him in basic......or does everyone??
Anyway, music-wise, after foundation I think you can have stereos and stuff in your room depending on your troop leader. Or so I've been told. Maybe someone can shine some light in this. Your troop may not share the same taste in music as you though.
cheers

Rite lads this questions been brought up before.....but anyway ,yes you can have mp3's etc in foundation just dont let the DL see you with it! Foundation is time to get to know your oppo's so I would suggest being extra social and have a chat with the other lads; mp3's kill conversation so I wouldnt bother! By week 20 when your having a mare of a day and a pile of admin that night get the headphones on and chill out for a while or use them to drown out the noise of your oppos snoring at 01.00....CTC is largely a social experience lads ,you dont wanna be the guy who finished his admin and chills in his grot instead of getting round his oppos!Any other q's just shout...
Matt...
might sound like an ignorant question (probly coz im ignorant)
but what is the USMC gunner sgt doing training you guys ?
sounds like a top bloke by ther way bet ya love it when you see him headed towards you
one lad had a stero system and the DL was sound with it...asked who had CD's and what not tried putting them over the speaker system but in the end resorted to the lads stereo.
we where aloud it after we had finished work ie when dhobing and getting sorted for the next day ... in a way it helped us bond at our end of the room, singing and dancing and stuff..had to be turned off ASAP though when ever anyone came in IE C/sgt or CPT.
i used my mini disk often, specially for the journey i know Andy did aswel a lot of the time, helps you have some personel space i geuss!
The Gunner Sgt is on an exchange, hes done two troops and where his third and final, there is an RM doing the same thing over there...he knows his stuff and everything he balls at us if for a reason, if slightly over the top and exagerated!

JamieT your training team probably wont allow stereos etc after foundation
Why not?
be prepared for a bit of crying if you leave it or your locker open and on display....
as it will get smashed
I doubt they would smash anything valuble I had my civvy locker trashed and my bed tipped upside down and the only thing still in there was my mobile phone.
Also if they don't know about it, it isn't there .

Yes he stress fractured his shin/foot during an IMSC. I think he came down a rope too fast. Probably be in hunter for a few more weeks when we get back.
Do you know him?
