RMR training is nothing like regular nod training, you cannot compare it in anyway although the tests are the same the training isnt. you have no idea what its like. I was talking to a few the other week who had just done there commado tests, i few nods had ago at them because they were walking around with thier green lids on. This wasnt the problem it was just that some lads in hunter will never get to wear one.

Rambo, was this just last week, and were they Jocks? If it was it was my old troop, and I should have been there with them!  My next shot is this time next year now, and one of the lads who was down last week has been a Nod for 3 years! :o

I couldn't give a toss what regular nods think to be honest, our training is just as demanding and taxing, just in a different way, trust me, those guys really did earn those Green Lids.

:fist:

Sorry fella but that statement is flawed - There has to be common ground otherwise 140 RMR lads wouldn't have gone to Op. Telic if the training was so different when they went through their Commando courses. The only difference I see is time & intensity of training.

One is a full time job and the other part time - Simple as that really - no p*ssing contest needed ;)

Your missing my point, i never at any stage said they didnt deserve them. My point was the training is not the same. i've heard the way their training teams speak to them. its just little things like that. Time and intensity of the training thats why its different.

How do you mean ?

I think the team you are talking about are the 'Regular' Reserve Forces Training Team in Normandy block - I daresay Rabby has met Sgt. J and Sgt. M on his 1A course. :P

Now it's a Marine V Marine pissing contest.
The RMR lads have a lot to contend with during their course. Their commitment is tested to the limits, as well as their physical and mental endurance. Yes they do things differently, but they also pass the same tests, just as the All Arms Commando Course do, and I know how hard they work for their berets.
If you wear the hat, you've done the course. Simple as that, it's not a gimmmee.
You should talk to somebody who gives a f**k.

Prez,

you've hit the nail on the head again bud. Some of the best bootnecks I know are RMR and some of the blokes on the training teams at CTC started out as RMR and went triple S lads so maybe you should lower the tone a bit.

My perception of RMR has changed a lot over the past year or so and like Prez said, do the course, wear the lid, earnt the right and respect so all of you blokes who are still aspiring booties, wind it

Only kididng lads but no blue on blues here. 8)
