hmm, I wonder when this was :-? well done on your degree, now you can go and join all the other desk jockys and wake up in 30 years time thinking what you did with your life. Oh and being in the "real" world will mean getting your hippy hair cut off.

:fist:

Excuse me ladies, does this handbag fight need a referee?
Quit being so judgmental the pair of you!

Or you can have freedom.

I see that since I last dropped by things haven't changed very much.
The old women of the forum are still bickering and inane posts are still being published.
Aw well, I suppose there is more chance of world being free of religious tension, wars and dictators and everyone living in harmony, than there is of changing some of the nuggets who frequent this place.

Roll on my next enforced absence..can't come soon enough.

PS Good to see you back Whitey! :D
Trust all is well with you and yours

Yeah everything is good. Lew you said something with alot of truth about looking back. I am friends with alot of those folks who fell for the American Dream and now they are in their 30's and 40's they say stuff like "Yeah, I was going to join up, but........" I can't read their mind, but I think they knew they missed something, a rite of passage. Some venture outside the village and become men, others well...? I can re-link the Iraqi boom link if you want, I just didn't want to keep it up and hurt feelings here. I figured the guys who'd enjoy it would look right away and the tender of heart would stumble on later. URNU good for you that you have a job lined up, now it is mid-life crisis early. Do you Brit's have an equivelent to the American Dream?
I hate the American Dream. A ranch style tract house, 2 cars, one really nice and the other not so nice, 2.5 kids and a wife who becomes more depressed with every hour of TV, thinks of having an affair but doesn't, a job in a cubical with all that silly plastic trash and candy dishes, where your biggest worry is office politics and your golf score. Never leaving your mark on the world or being a part of noted history. Yep URNU different strokes for different folks, but Lew IMO you made the right choice. As you get older the money and shallow friends can't replace the adventure and brotherhood.
But by all means carry on. :drinking:

Consider yourself lucky mate! My better half is addicted to "EAST ENDERS" 2000hrs BBC1, then again the same programme at 2200hrs BBC3!

Plus the daughters sit and stare at a bunch of charmless Loons living locked up in some house/studio on Channel Four. Bigbrother. Britains answer to the USA's Germaloid Pile adverts! :D :D At least the Pile adverts were funny last time I saw them.

My Workplace is the big outdoors and My boss is Me. Havent worked for anyone on a full time basis for 12 years now. I do a bit of Pro Rata work for English Heritage. The rest of the time am adoing my ding. Blimey I even do a bit of teaching when I need the dosh which is normally all the time. :D :D

As for the American Dream it strikes me that in Britain a fair few of us just dream about getting out of this country.

All of us fed up types should pick a spot on the map and colonize it and never let our kids forget why we moved there. Mexico has reintroduced leprosy and TB into the US. We had it about erradicated. We have politicians in the west who are Hispanic boasting the Mexicans are America's Palestenians and they are going to take back California, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas to create a Mexican state. Here in my town all these hot blue eyed blond haired girls showed up, but they aren't speaking English. Turns out we are getting loads of Russians and Ukrainians. You should see the look on our obese womens faces when the guys are rubber necking to get a second look. I always thought Russian women were supposed to be ugly? If America only knew what they were hiding behind that Iron Curtian we'd went to liberate them a long time ago!

TB is back in the UK so I read the other day but it's a case of returning Brits who have been out and about in the big wide world and some times the Illegals. In other word six of one and half a dozen of the other.

What did the Prostitute with Leprosy say to her Pimp?

Business is dropping off! (I'll get me coat :D )

From what i'v read T.B is rife in the Himalayas, apparently most of the people living in the foothills of the mountains have it and (obviously) pass it on to tourists/climbers.
fall down seven times, get up eight.
