Congraulations Will, good too hear someone on here passed both, sadly a few have not made it!
My mate completed YO training a few years back and badly injured his back shortly after and got Medically Discharged!
Should See you around CTC as i will be in a recruit troop a few weeks before hand!
All the best and remember there are only around 300 Royal Marines Officers....a very small and very elite group!

Don`t think luck is on the selection criteria Pauloso you're one of the lucky few
Ability, determination effort, intelligence etc etc.
Naw bollocks you`re probably right
Will, all the very best "Young Sir"
Don`t be a stranger, keep us informed as to how you`re doing.
Once again, well done you.

If anyone has any problems getting a broadsheet newspaper everyday try Google News. It updates itself every few minutes with the current important news, and it's nice and simple to review whats happened throughout the day.
Joining as an officer
Hi there,
I am currently going through the motions to becoming a Royal Marine Officer however as I wear glasses, albeit not all the time, I am worried that this will be a severe handicap to me. Any thoughts?

Thanks MM,
I read it and it was really helpful. Fortunatly I had already attended a medical examination at my local AFCO late last year when I tried to join as other ranks, (Unfortunatly I was deferred for a year because I had asthma as a child) and I was told that I had Class/Standard 2 eye sight. I was just wondering on the practicality on wearing glasses during training and then on operations. If anyone has any expirience of this I would be grateful to hear from you.
Thanks again,
