OK
You just seemed to have contradicted yourself there.
I hope I'm not the only one that noticed.

"Some guy in a pub claims to be SF" and "I asked him a question about................." and "he couldnt answer me"KNIFE wrote:Don't ask about the British combat smock even a f@#k cadet would know aobut that or a CI maybe, try to ask him about the tactical side all the fieldcraft shit and about weapons, see if he knows his stuff if he does not then he aint part of spec forces. You can buy a smock for about 30 quid 95, BTW does the 2000 really have IR deflectors on it????
Yes theres wannabes and liars out there but whats cheesing me off is not the guys who post the topic of "when I caught a wannabe out" but the cadets/students/Camtechs and Knifes of this world who seem to know all about SF and can tell you the questions to ask to catch a wannabe out. You who propose these stupid questions in the forums based on some internet search are also wannabes. Makes for an interesting scenerio that one - two idiots in a pub asking each other about
when neither has the remotest clue or substance of character to back any claim or counter claim up.Fieldcraft shit
And if to top it all these people come onto a Military forums site and then right about it. Look I for one aint ex-SF, the closest Ive come to the SAS is doing a pre-selection medical on a mate before I never saw him again. But I am an ex-serving member of the Armed Forces and one thats sick of rolling my eyes at yet another twat in a pac-a-mac telling us all that Spetnaz are the best and the new combat jacket has some velcro 2mm from where it was on the old one.
Rant over, I await one of you "know it alls" to reply with a witty comment and support with "but I read somewhere...........and your wrong!"

Andy,
I have asked this question before and no one seems to have heard. Sticky Blue has tried to find out what has happened to him but as we only have a first name to go on ( Mick) and the fact that he seems to be SAS TA, we haven't had much luck.
I have a horrible feeling that given his medical history, (he was in and out of hospital), that he is no longer with us.
I just hope that we will be proved wrong and that he will all of a sudden appear with the comment (like Mark Twain), that reports of his demise are greatly exaggerated.
