TA PARAS

Post by Una »

Hi,
Was after a bit of information about 4 PARA, in particular the White City attachment. Was wondering if there is anybody already in the TA Paras who could tell me what amount of time it takes to complete the training and also if they know how often new training phases start.
I have used the search function but couldn't seem to find anything along these lines.
Any info at all would be appreciated.
Cheers Una.

Takes at least 6 months to get your maroon beret (8 weekends, two weeks camp run by Pegusus Company at ITC Catterick. This consists of CIC(TA)PARA (Combat Infantry Course, Territiorial Army, Parachute Regiment Specific) and Pre Parachute Selection (P-Company)) Pass this and you will be loaded on the two week parachute course at RAF Brize Norton (I was there for a month because of aircraft availibility and bad weather). I signed up on the 22nd April 2003 and got my wings on the 28th of march 2004. The whole process can take between 8 months and two years depending on how many cadres you take and course availibility. There are three cadres a year with p-company run in april, july and december.

good luck
