Hi im new and wish to pursue a career in the royal marines. I have been out of youth offenders for about 5 months and have nothing hanging over me anymore. The reason i was put in YO was because I was charged with GBH for stabbing someone in the chest. YO was hard but I want to leave the life i used to lead of fighting ect behind me. I wish to start a new,

Do you think there is any possability of them accepting me?

cheers for the sensible answer J.M.C, thats life though isnt it i don't regret it.I'll get in touch with my parol officer. thanks sticky i'll find out about this AFCO. i was 15 and 6 months when i stabbed this kid and am now 17 and 5 months i did about year and a half. i would of got out after 8 months and be out on paroll for another couple of months, but things happened in YO which complicated things.

(I had a warrent out for my arrest for doing other things so i got extra time on top of the GBH charge, complicated.)

Mate not being funny but your not exactly endearing yourself to your *possible* peers here, you have brazenly admitted to stabbing someone in the fn chest... not exactly a pinnacle of self control now are we, someone has said something that has offended you and you have spent the last three posts swearing etc etc... if he was here, now, and you had access to items that could maim and kill (as you will in the forces) would you use them ?

The rules the forces impose in terms of not serving due to specific criminal pasts are most likely put in place for a reason.

If you want it, you'll stick it out. 5 Years is plenty of time to get yourself sorted and fit, and show the people at the AFCO that your past is behind you and you've moved on and are ready to face a tough challenge.

why did i knife him? he said something about my mates mum and he had a 8 inch butterfly knife on him. so my m8 called me down i went into the pub and thats that. (also this kid said something to me about my brother), lukily it was GBH not attempted murder. inch way from his heart. lukily it didnt hit it otherwise i would would be in the shit big style.
