Davey, I think you need to grow up and show some respect. These 'losers' are experienced people who know what they are talking about and are trying to help the potential recruits and currently serving soldiers out there, with any problems they may have. Those "900 posts", which are closer to 3000 - 4000 in number, have not been made because they have no lives. I can assure that El Prez, Sticky and the other regulars/moderators on these forums, do have lives and are being generous by giving up their time to make the posts which help us all out. Please don't waste our time here, by starting a flaming war, if you are serious about being here, listen to what people have to say and try to at least put some effort into the quality of your posts.

Bruce.

With that sort of attitude Davey people are more likely to think you're an idiot and just not bother responding at all. Some of the concerns regarding spelling may seem pedantic but your level of English isn't very good for someone who is in the middle of studying for their GCSEs. In the Army of tomorrow basic education will be far more important than it currently is and how well do you think you'll fare? Besides, as they are the moderators of the forums they decide what is and isn't suitable as far as content on the forums is concerned. If they don't like what you're posting they'll nuke it then you wont be able to ask any questions.

I think the lesson is one of attitude Davey and consideration for others (as Bruce says, respect). You haven't even tried to meet anybody half way and whilst I'm no expert on dislexia I'm not sure that it involves a consistent failure to use capital letters. I'm not too bothered about spelling by the way, I'm just concerned about your attitude.

The forces are uncompromising and whatever your stamina levels are, if you don't fit you won't get in (I speak only from experience of the RM but I don't assume the Army to be any different). People who insist on doing things their way have no place in the armed forces (Hollywood maybe). You've dug your heels in over this and I don't feel particularly disposed to offer any advice because with the attitude you have displayed on this thread, I wouldn't pass you for duty - so you're stamina levels are academic.

Come on mate, make an effort to toe the line (this is a very important lesson) and I'm sure you will get all the advice you need. If you want to maintain your stance and insult men who have done what you aspire to I would imagine your days on the forum are numbered.

You know it makes sense

Davey I went back to your first question about stamina in order to understand where all this started.
Keep running, and extend the distance on alternate days, if you can. Do the same with your other exercises.
Eat plenty of FRESH food, not McDonalds (although the fats would be handy as calories). Try changing your diet to include stacks of Pasta, Potatoes and other carbohydrates, necessary as fuel. Also include fruit, fish and as much salad and vegetables as you can. An easy boost to your system is a simple pack of multi-vitamins from Tesco, about £2.50 for 3 months supply. It just helps keep you fit and healthy, don't overdo the consumption of tablets, your body just pees out the excess.
I mentione dfruit, eat it by the handfull!!
Good luck, put in the work, reap the rewards.
You should talk to somebody who gives a f**k.

The mercury levels in tuna are reaching dangerous proportions now. A Helath Canada warning was issued a while back advising parents not to feed tuna to any children under six years of age at all. For adults, it was advised not to eat more than a couple of ounces per week. This is a shame as tuna is an excellent source of protein.

Probably the best and safest source of animal-based protein available is organic chicken. You most definitely need a good amount of quality protein in your diet to allow for increased muscle mass and therefore strength.

Be careful about the multi-vitamins you choose. The absorbtion rates of some are as low as 5%. That doesn't necessarily mean that you will get a better product if you spend more. It just suggests that you should do some homework first. The most popular multi-vitamin in North America (Centrum) is one of the biggest rip-offs going. It has an absorbtion rate of around 5% and yet people still buy it because of all the flash advertizing.

A little education can go a long way. With the internet at your disposal, try to spend some time reading independent articles about nutrition, etc. Consumer advocate sites are pretty good at digging up any dirt on a product. It will stand you in very good stead in the long term.

Second that!!

Davey use Word Spellchecker or equivalent to check spelling and grammar.

If you are saying El Prez. Sticky etc have no life then how have they accumulated all the knowledge they have. Answer: by having a service life. You are acting like you are 2 IQ points short of a pebble

Get a grip or think seriously about your career choice.

Tread very carefully, this is a thin ice warning, of course I've got a life. I enjoy all the usual sporting activities, baiting Mormons, hurling abuse at bus drivers, interrogating vicars and being nasty to meals on wheels people. So what is your problem!
Tone it down lads, no need to rip out Daveys intestines.............leave that to me, I insist. 8)

PS Davey, and any others, there are reams of information on the Joining the Royal Marines forum. Read the product on those pages and adapt it to your own needs.

Davey, get into the general habbit of doing something (run, gym etc.) even if you don't want to - and because you don't want to. Push yourself hard, you're capable of much more than you think. As El Prez says theres stacks of stuff on the Joining the RM forum but really it's a state of mind you should be getting into - the rest will follow. If someone suggests 5 miles then do that and then do a few more and push yourself so you can hardly breath or stand up at the end of it. Good luck, work hard.
