Do what your told
Bust your balls off on everything!!!
Theres no such thing as stop unless your told to
never put your hands in you pockets
Dont wipe the sweat off your face

ENJOY IT!

You may want to look round the forum though, there are more threads about this. Also, talking to m-a-s-s-e-y i dont think you do pressups or situps anymore.

mate if your going to rsc lichfield, then my advice would be to pray, just came back from mine today after being deferrd from the medical with a suspected heart mumour along with ten other lads. there was only 30 to start with. according to the docter 98 cases out of 100 are nothing, and to add insult to injury one docter said i had a very slight mumour the other heard nothing but i wasnt allowed a third opinion. Ive heard of taking precaustions but i think 11/30 is taking the pi*s.

Damn this selection process and the tests sound very hard to pass...With most of you being quite young and all I wonder what chances I have being a month away from age 27! :-?

I suppose I better start praying (and yeah training big time!).

Fox, selection is easy. Whether you get the trade you want is a different story. I wouldn't worry about your age. If you're reasonably fit, ie can get out of bed in the morning, then you'll be fine.

yeh mate heres a tip. dont listen to other peoples bollocks who are also withu on RSC about how fast they can do the mile and a half in either. Dont try to stay with anyone in the run..run it at your personal fastest pace but just run your arse off as if someones chasing u with a rusty knife to cut your balls off....dont hold anything back for the whole 2 days and youll be fine.

The thing to remember during your basic is that, despite what it looks like or feels like, the training staff want you to pass. Not particularly because they like you but because it reflects badly on them if you fail or chuck it. The other thing to expect is that initially it is crap, lots of BS, but that does calm down a lot assuming your troop aren't a load of mongs. If your a mixed troop it'll probably be a little easier but that depends what you're going into. You'll enjoy some of it, hate other bits and then you'll do NBC. It may one day save your life but until then you'll have lots of dusty kit to clean and be running round in a gas mask...WAHEY!...not to mention your clown boots

Just keep your fitness training up till you go in and after 12 weeks you'll be wondering what all the fuss was about. :D
