This has been covered on a few threads elsewhere, but the basic thing to know about B20 is that - it's a load of male reproductive organs :). My view as on another thread...
This is, supposedly, the true story of an eight man SAS patrol which got into serious trouble during Desert Storm. It goes into very good detail about the experience of the patrol, and is written very well indeed making it nice and accessible. The problem however as you probably know, is that many of the details while very interesting, are more likely than not complete and utter c**p. The book on this subject by Michael Asher shows that much of McNabs account is either exaggerated or downright lying, and so while it’s impossible to know how much of either account is true, it’s fair to say that this makes a highly enjoyable read, and gives an eye opening insight into the experiences of being captured by the Iraqi army (this section of the book is, to the best of my knowledge, undisputed by anyone including Michael Asher), well worth a look. Just treat the first part with a fleet of oil tankers full of salt.

i know Mcnab is not well received around these parts...but i will say, i think this book is a good read. I am not in a position to comment on whether its accurate or not but still good reading.

I also have to admit to having read all his fiction books and i think they are all an adictive read (and i am not saying any of them are accurate etc., just good fiction).

Just my opinion :)

BTZ, The one that got away, The Real BTZ

All good reads, but its impossible to tell what is right and wrong. I think that some things what Mcnab and Ryan says may be exaggerated or wrong, but a lot of Ashers book is itself unbelievable. For example, 5 elite soldiers 'employing' an Iraqi taxi driver to help them escape??

It also seems strange that the Iraqis would treat Mcnab, Stan, Dinger and Mal with respect, then beat the shit out of them for weeks on end.
