Hmm seems a bit long... Im going march 8th so for me its only been about... 3 - 4 months all together.... thats including time before i go down to raleigh... Could be different courses so probably right depends what your going to be doing... Good luck for when you do go.

I put in OM as well as i needed a few options :P the test is really easy btw.... However the times could be right as its done so ppl dont get the same test so i will have done the first testing session of the year you will be in 2nd is only explination i can think of for you having to wait 6 months...

Yeah i have the procedures and practice test booklet, and the questions are really easy, and i can do them fairly quickley, i think its just to see how you cope under tough situations, seen as they give you a small amount of time to complete a set amount of questions. :D i just cant wait till im doing my basic training!

The waiting time depends on a number of things including trade, from completing the medical and interview etc I was told three to six months for the security, and only after that has gone through do they book you in fore training; for an MA that's another six to eight months according to my AFCO so that's potentially fourteen months after the medical before getting going :(.

And I'm guessing the place your careers advisor was referring to was HMS Raleigh (pronounced rar-lee), where all basic training is carried out?

EDIT: And regarding the RT test, it is slightly harder than the examples they give you in my opinion, but it's still easy enough if you've got more than three brain cells.

The actual test questions are about 50 % harder than the test booklet but if you can understand and comprehend them then you can pass... I didnt do great on the maths section but good enough to join... And do all the jobs i wanted so im pretty chuffed... Just remember the actual test questions are a bit harder so dont rely on the test booklet 2 much :)

i'm not relying on it, i just expect that the questions will be on the same lines of the ones in the book, shapes etc.... and i think i only have to get 50% to pass, (i read that somewere) what did the interview go like, what did they ask, what did you take etc.?

Heres what i did...

Applied and then i got booked for the Recruits Test did that... Returned the very next day to do my interview... I was asked... About family friends jobs life hobbies interests its just a really good chat about you.... Best advice is to be 100% honest and joke about and be yourself and they will appreciate and respect you for it... Then 2 days later i did my medical which was a couple of sheets asking me loads questions... Do you get migraines asthma hayfever etc... Did a hearing test.... Eyeysight test looking at a board to see if im color blind... Did reflexes did general strength... The yesterday i did the PJFT which was to run 1.5 miles in under 12minutes 20 secounds and i managed it... Now i have today got my offer of a job i said yes my AFCO has sent me out info and a form to fill in i then go for a final chat and interview... Then closer to the 8th of march i go in for the last time to et my travel details... And on a side note im getting a tour of a frigate docking in Aberdeen... So thats about all i have done and its going great... So i have been accepted extremely fast... They must need cannon fodder badly lol
