Well Frank Ducs I figure if you ask that question here you get what you deserve. From this Americans point of view I did join initially to blow things up and kill people. I told my drill instructor so and he was damn proud. I figure if you really want to soldier you got to come to terms with the idea of killing and being killed especially in my country that seems to have been in a state of war since the 1940's. I mean look at Vietnam, no one saw that comming. Grenada to Afgahnistan all out of the blue, Iraq was the only predictable one. So yeah as a young troop I used to watch the news and imagine killing who ever was the bad guys of the week and being killed by them, until I deployed. That was when the killing idea got complicated. I saw people get shot, not by us though, and I wanted to shoot, stab and even scalp a few of the killers we saw, but we weren't allowed too do so. Then I got hooked up with some guys who guided in cruise missiles, they leveled some stuff. Wasn't exactly how I envisioned killing folks, but I guess the outcome was the same.
After that even though I didn't feel directly responsible for the destruction since I was just the medical guy I still felt shameful for it for some reason.
My dad on the other hand killed an ass of people in Vietnam. Got the citations and all. He in his old age openly talks about it and seems to want to do it all over again. If they let him loose in Iraq with a bag of rocks he'd kick someones ass. I figure that to some especially those who have farmed and slaughtered animals, killing is more instinctive. And like a hunting dog that has tasted blood, once tasted it craves nothing else.
Your kung fu story is funny, I used to do that crap, then I learned a good bottle across a mans head and a nice determined chokegot the thugs attention more. Well hell, as long as it is another soldier playing for the other team I got no problem killing him, the USAF method of bombing civilians I think is bull shit and cowardly. I got no use for that crap.
Let them call me a rebel and I welcome it, I feel no concern from it; but I should suffer the misery of demons were I to make a whore of my soul. (Thomas Paine)

waitandbleed wrote:and one more thing..... one of u said that i'll get a punch from a marine for saying all of this shit. Fights do not phase me at all and i would fight someone over a tin of beans if that's what they wanted. As far as getting my ass kicked is concerned i've been studying martial arts since i was 4 years old and i have black belts in 3 different styles, not to mention i have invented my own fighting style. My own style focus's on knife fighting. I have to show restraint when fighting because i've been trained to break the arms and legs very quickly and i have several times gotten into fights when drunk and gone too far. You'd be suprised how easy it is to break an arm and i'm telling u they take ages to heal again.

who is this lunatic.....................please stop watching that karate kid dvd that you got for christmas

Are you all willing to kill?

Post by sneaky beaky »

In response to one of Old Scaly Back's earlier comments :- I can also kill a man with one finger - eventually !!! I was also trained in Karachi and I am a black belt in Ludo! If I remember my formal training in Ludo - sorry - Judo, you were encouraged not to use it except in extreme circumstances and then only to disarm an attacker. You certainly didn't go around breaking peoples arms!
As you can deduce from this post, I can't really take this seriously and we ought to stop replying to it in a serious vein. Keep sending the funny ones though!!

I know this is a post but l think we should stop replying on this topic as it gives the loon some credability. Instead we should all chip in and get him a straight jacket or an application form for the Foreign legion.

Whatever people. Does it really matter what i think or say? No it doesn't. All that matters is how one performs. Lots of people are not what they seem and i am certain many many current marines have similar reasoning to me but have never mentioned it. Come on people you wan't to be soldiers not psychologists so please stop analysying me! As for all those comments about never wanting to serve with my type, well, what type is that exactly? You people don't know me at all you can't take one statement i make and understand me. If i was to ever fight alongside other servicemen i would do everything i could to protect them and would sacrifice myself to save the person next to me without thinking. When the shit his the fan you won't care why i joined only what i am capable of and what i am willing to do. I am not a perfect individual by any means and none of us are. I don't expect the people i serve beside in the future to be perfect either. Soldiers are not super human they are ordinary people doing extraordinary things. Don't expect the soldier to be extraordinary however.

I salute you.

waitand bleed if you are very good i will teach you my own martial art of fighting with tins of beans and broken pint glasses. I call it ach-choo.
RAAAGH! (I GTee you will learn a very hard lesson)
At the end end of the the day being in a tooth arm means fighting and its rather the other bloke than you or you mates. If you take any relish for killing please take the path of a serial killer and end up in (please be raped and tortured) broadmoor.
You are trained to do do a job that means putting another human being out of action so be it but causing another person to die IS A BAD THING please get this into your scrawny skull.
