Hi all,
Im joining the TA RLC, and will be going on their "look at life" weekend in about 6 weeks.
At the moment im really unfit (I tried to do a 2 mile run the other day, and it took me 20 minutes), and about 1 stone overweight.
What should I expect of he look at life weekend, and what will be expected of me from a fitness point of view?
What kind of fitness regime should I be following to prepare? At the moment I have been doing an hours gym session every other night, and a 2 mile jog twice a week.
Cheers

Re: TA fitness requirements
Alright Mr CC
Basic Map reading 6 Figs and all that
You'll do a BPFA (Basic Personal Fitness assesment) and you will be doing...
as many press-ups you can do in 2 minutes
as many sit-ups you can do in 2 minutes
run the 1.5 miles
Possibly a bleep test
All the activities are at your own pace and its basically so the PTI's can see what you need to work on and improve.
Its week 1. They aren't expecting superhuman fitness standards...in fact they are expecting the opposite!
Remeber that the weekend is your own personnal best effort. Dont go mad in the gym already, you dont want to cause injury before you go etc. Keep on with what your doing and like me cut down on pies and cakes
This weekend will make you want to get your arse in the Gym afterwards because everyone is so shocked about their fitness etc. A few guys from my company gave up fags right there and then!
Hope this helped Mr CC. Post any other questions up when you need and i'll give em a go
Rob
Its a peice of piss mate i did it recently and you'll do some very basic things. Waking up at 6 A.m getting a SHAVE. Watching Health and safety videos and all that sh*te. You might have to talk infront of the group and tell them about yourself and why you joined etcmr_cc wrote:

OOF! You better get crackin with the knackin there mate. I'm overweight a little bit too mate and its not a major problem if you can get in the right frame of mind. I can do the 1.5 miler in 11 minutes 12 secs (my first go) As Infantry i have to do it under 10 Mins 30 secs...so i've got a bit to knock offAt the moment im really unfit (I tried to do a 2 mile run the other day, and it took me 20 minutes), and about 1 stone overweight.
Expect to make a few mates and have a laugh. You might have a few ex-Regulars with you so listien to what they say because most of them know what they are on about if you get stuck with anythingWhat should I expect of he look at life weekend, and what will be expected of me from a fitness point of view?
