Christ alive. I live in brighton and I went swimming in the sea the other day, I went right out as well. Imagine that...I'd sh*t myself if I saw one whilst in the sea..

There’s not much to worry about, you’re more likely to win the lottery or be hit by a plane than be bitten by a great white.

There cool

Sh####g yourself would be a very bad idea if one of these was nearby (although quite understandable), as it'd make you much more likely to be attacked. Best thing would be to stay a still as possible, and avoid splashing or having your limbs floating out to the side. Apparently, we've got about 10 years or so before it'd be quite common to see them in our waters, but we've already had two shark attacks in British waters in the last one hundred years (non-fatal).

I'm just going to start learning to scuba dive, so I hope they do come along. I'd love to go down in a cage with them!

If you'd like to see some lovely pictures of what they might do to you, go to www.sharkattacks.com and look at the victims gallery, ugh :o

Sorry, didn't mean to go on, I'm a bit of ashark fan :D

BFC.
Now then, then now, now then now, now then. Never poo poo a poo poo. Damned stout fellow.

I wouldnt worry about the sharks too, much. Over here in Australia only about a dozen (usually less) great white shark attacks occur each year (that may sound a lot, but we have a heap of coastline). Maybe they will behave differently in your waters (im no marine biologist), but i wouldnt worry about em until lots of people start getting eaten (*shaky confidence boost*).

Cheers,

Well you wouldn`t, would you? After all, there`s never been a shark attack in Canberra
I remember a time, mid-sixties, sharks were sighted in Mount`s Bay. Me uncle stopped us from swimming after skool,in Mousehole. Newlyn fishermen blamed the sharks for a drop in catches and several took rifles to sea.
Most shark attacks take place in water less than one meter deep. Don`t be afraid of swimming, it`s paddling that annoys`em :P

You’ve got more chance of taking a ship’s shower in the wee small hours, long walks in the moonlight, and swapping spit, with me, than you have of even seeing one of these magnificent creatures. Vast areas of Ocean now contain no shark, thanks to the demands of Chinese Restaurants. They cut the fins off the animal and chuck it back over the side while it’s still alive. Thousands of shark are caught in commercial Tuna fishing, and the large-scale removal of an A-Type predator, from the food chain, will have/is having dire consequences.
Forget shark, how long has it been since you saw Manx Kippers? Or Arbroath Smokeys? Or Cod.
Carry on like this and there won’t be any sustainable fish stocks left before too long.
You could always eat crisps, of course

Sharks are majestic creatures and have been on this planet far longer than we have...

As for shark attacks on people, so what, if your in the sea your fair game, the sea isn't our territory its theirs... nuff said
