Marina wrote:Hello everyone,

I apologise for the irrational and extreme post I wrote earlier. I was going through a moment of madness where there was a relapse in the humane and logical part of my brain.
What I should of said was that Saddam’s sons should have been caught and put on trial but I have no right to pass judgement on anyone, only a Court of Law and God who works in mysterious of ways can sort out the criminals. ( O.K …. maybe the Firing squad was better option ).
My very favourite thought is that they roll up at heaven expecting to pick up their fresh virgins or whatever, and the gatekeeper of the moment says "You got to be joking! Misjudged that one a bit, eh lads?" and sends 'em packing to where they really belong. . after making sure they can see "their" virgins frolicking with their last victims! Gives me peace that does. . . .
And Marina, I shouldn't worry about your post, we all think pretty much the same, you just explained it better! Allah (peace be upon him) certainly has no place for these people in his kingdom. We know it, they are just finding it out.

At least with them out of the way, it`ll save millions on keeping them in nick, but saying that, they should have tried them, and then let the people of Iraq deal with them, that would have won some hearts and minds

I would have really liked to see the two sons captured then paraded through the streets of Bagdad so people could see these evil men downgraded.....and then very wishfully to be stoned to death by everyone who they caused such terror to!!!!!
Ah well, on to Saddam.

Dead is good - I suppose. Maybe alive and spilling some beans about WMD's might have been better. Or about Daddy's whereabouts.

Mind you, conspiracy theories keep popping into my head. :( :(

Maybe George and Tony have sent out the word. Capture them, but dead, not alive. Can't afford to have any incriminating evidence about the real reasons for the war - or lack of evidence for the given reasons - getting into the public domain.

I tend to agree with Marina's sentiments about a quick and easy death being too good for them. After interrogation they could have been handed over to the Iraqis for trial and sentencing - in Basra, of course!

sod it Marina....they deserved more pain than was given, no doubt about that. I only wish they could have experienced some of the pain and anguish caused by themselves, to others. I think they should have been slowly cooked in a large micro wave.

Although complete tyrants at least they died for what they beleaved in, with some honour (in some perverse respects) in their own circle. And not hand themselves in at the first sign of danger, which I dispise as a quality in anyone.

Did you all read what the Americans laid on them weapons wise.......Grenades, AT launchers, delta Battle ships fired rocket after rocket into the house......they really wanted them dead..

I heard on an american news channel they actual tried to get everyone in the building to surrender before blowing the living sh*t out of the building. It was only after three soldiers were wounded that they attacked.
How much of that is true i dont know. Theres too much propagander going on to tell.

I don’t like watching the American news channels, all the anchormen and women are far too cheesy, and they just come across as fake in my eyes.

I know its another thread, but did you see the return of Jessica Lynch yesterday on CNN... couldn't see the girl for flying flags and couldnt hear the commentators for marching bands. The whole country gets more like a theme park day by day.....

Afraid not mate, the only news channels I watch are sky news 24 (British version) ITN 24, BBC 24, and then from time to time the channel four news as if I want an in depth look at a certain subject...

Just heard on the 1700 radio news that Saddam's two thug sons are reported to have Been wiped out by Elmer. The Iraqis are finding it hard to believe.
I suggest that the US displays all that it can about the brutes, Photos, Dental records etc.....coz until they do I doubt anyone will believe them, especially while all this SPIN is going on, I wouldn't put anything past the lot of em!

The situation as reported here. After surrounding the building, the occupants were given the choice of surrendering, a choice which they chose not to accept and a gun battle ensued. There was the possibility of large crowds being attracted to the area and possible divertionary attacks against US troops. This could have given the occupants of the house a chance to escape, the worst possible scenario. The decision was made to flatten the place.

Aye - Andy.

Thankyou for your kind words, everyone, :D

I feel a bit better that I’m not the only one who thought they should have been brought to trial (and less of a plonker too !).
I hope the Iraqis can believe that the past is behind them with a bright future ahead. They should also try and understand the good intentions of the US Forces too in this respect. :-?
