Spoils of War

I have something which was 'liberated' at the end of WW2 by Gran Dad.
Now it seems this item is quite sort after being a original one off.
What are the legal implications of spoils of war ?

its a bronze plaque of Mussolini that was 'removed' from a monument at Milan Navel College in 1945, its signed and about the size of a dinner plate
