National Christmas Raffle

Post by bootneck »

I think this one is a little too close for this year, but let me know your views ASAP.

the idea is to get in touch with Toyota, which is on my doorstep, sponge a car off them, after explaining what its for, and thats the star prize.
then, contact Virgin Holidays, P&O Cruiselines, and a few other people who knock out holidays, and various other goods, TV`s DVD`s etc, and make the prize list up from those.

Each book of tickets, say a book of 10, will have a cover on it, where the person selling the tickets, puts his or her name,(I will explain this in a minute) The tickets are knocked out at £5:00 each, quite cheap as you stand to win a brand new car, and get them out to all the units, shore establishments/ships/airfields etc, you can even get your arse down the local and flog them there, WHY, because the more YOU sell, the more chance YOU stand to win the holiday for the sellers.

so if El Prez sells thirty books, he has thirty chances of winning a holiday
Derek sells 40, ( sorry rob) he gets 40 entrys into the sellers draw, and so on, O by the way, the holiday is a week in Baghdad central

so come on, lets have your views, do we stand a chance of getting this rolling for this christmas??

Good idea, Ive been doing a quick survey at work about this. They like the idea , but a lot said they would buy more tickets over a period of time if they were priced at £1.00 rather than a fiver. Its all to do with the mind, they will give you a couple of coins rather than a note. Anyhelp with the producing of the tickets give us a shout.

Does it need to be a 'Christmas' event, as available family funds tend to be taken by pressies, Xmas cards, and food? Also there are 'Office Parties', school nativity plays etc to pay for.

How about, say, Easter, which will give you more time to prepare, but you won't have to wait 'til next Xmas. It needs to avoid the fund raising for the Yomp30 in June (?) next year, if possible as we tend to 'hit' the same people.

Aye, Derek

I can offer an original painting for the raffle. Can be anything that takes your fancy. Let us know if your intrested. Have just done a piccy of HMS Newcastle (the cruiser, circa 1950's at Venice) and rucks of other warships RNA chaps quite like them (It's a way of making dosh for Gods sake before anyone starts, Fearless decked out in classic canal boat roses and castles looks great!). Would quite happily do a piccy of Fearless/Intrepid/Hermes etc, etc, you hum it I'll paint it! But......ain't doing a piccy of Royal ashore! (Hmm.....fu*k it why not, would be intresting ifen nought else) Might just do a piccy of HW's working. Easy peasey that one, just a piccy of a pussers slug!! with Andy enconsed in it?!?! Have a nice day Mr O'pray.

Humphs me old mate, you must be going soft in the head. Roping down from a chopper, wet landings, cross country driving. Sure, I do things like that every day. Why not try for a free day in the NAAFI.
