What is the daily routine for a recruit, ie what time do they get up, what pt do they do on a daily basis, activities etc?
Is the pt gradual or do they throw you in at the deep end? what runs do they do?
thanks
Matt

up at 05:00, shower and clean accom. rest of day dependent on lesson structure but they'll be some form of PT every day. training day finishes around 18:00 but then you'll have to get preped for the next day and carry out whatever tasks the trg team have set you. i don't remember getting in bed before 00:00 at any point in training.
in the field
plan on getting 1 -2 hours sleep per 24 hr period. rest of time spent patrolling / getting thrashed.
what was the pt like? circuit training? What is the fitness plan the give you like prior to joing?does it prepare you enough? wat standards do they expect when you join? do they test you again?
So many questions!

Don't know about the current fitness schedule but the one I got given was woefully inadequate.
PT varies depending what stage of trg you are in - it'll start off in the gym doing circuits, ropework etc, then moves down to the bottom field (assault course) - you can expect a pretty hard time of it.
they'll retest you on the USMC test - obviously if your scores are lower than the PRMC they'll be a few raised eyebrows.
pressups - max you can do up to 60
burpees - max you can do in 2 mins up to (can't remember)
situps - max you can do in 2 mins up to (can't remember)
pull ups - max you can do up to 18
300m shuttle run in 60m lengths - timed
as you say its a test devised by the US Marins Corps, you do one on your prmc and another if/when you join CTC for recruit trg.
aaaaahh it didnt say anything about burpees or 300m runs in the book or is that only when you join? 18 pull ups i would amazed to see anybody do that many overarm ones!

well this is what i did a few years ago - it may have changed.
however if you train for them and they're not in the test you haven't lost anything, if you don't train for them and they are in the test - your f*ucked.
again 18 was the max then - from what i gather now this may have been dropped, pull ups aren't that bad - once you've trained for them its amazing how quickly they develop.
best bet is to find a good pull bar and keeping your body straight pull up with one clean movement, then lower slowly to the count of 3 to the starting position - repeat as necessary
will do! why do they test 300m? why not just 400m round an athletics track? does it invlove changing direction?
i have started doing my pull ups again( i stopped overloading on them, but now have decided i may as well push my self more) i can do 10 quick ones about 8 or 9 slow ones so ill keep at it! yeh i need to get a pull up bar i use the door lintel, it blisters my fingers really bad!
Does nobody know what the pt is like in the marines? I DONT WANT TO BE UNPREAPARED! if i get in that is.

1) The shift key produces credible capital letters.
2) Once the 2 week initial intro is finished life will be a blur, so don't worry too much unless things start coming back into focus. In which case you will have been binned or back trooped.
I always remember entering the galley at Deal for that first meal in the evening and feeling hundreds of eyes assessing us, wondering if we could hack it. And the audible murmur "Don't do it!"
Main aid to completing the course? Mark 1 Sense of humour, and a huge grin whenever training team members were giving us heaps.
You should talk to somebody who gives a f**k.

Thanks A LOT! O i found the shift key, i watched a video which i was sent and it didn't show any of the pt the recruits did just a quick bit of the demonstrtaion the recruits do on parents day! Its seemed like in the foundation phase they were beasted a lot more than in the rest of training! Well i look forward to the challenges and those marines catch phrases! I think the best one i have heard so far is pain is temporary, pride is forever or something along those lines!
